Magnolia-licious Design Team Wedding March Hop!!

Welcome to our monthly blog hop for the Magnolia-licious Design Team, sponsored by the generous and fabulous Diana! If you've arrived here after visiting my talented DT sistah Patti Jo, then you're on the right track! If not, you might want to head back to the very beginning at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog.  You don't want to miss any of the fabulous projects and there just might be some yummy candy along the way too! This month our theme is the Wedding March Hop!!  So the projects are all to be wedding themed and contain a gift or package created using the fabulous Scor Pal.  I really had a fun time making this one!   For my project, I made the "wine tote". I think I made the handle a little wide to be able to get a bottle of wine into it, so I think I would put a couple champagne flutes inside instead. Wouldn't that be a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift?  I think if I really wanted it to be for a bottle of wine, I would attach the handles with brads so it would swing down for clearance.

For the wine tote, I used Bazzill cardstock along with Best Creation DP.  I used the #1 Vintage Tag Doohickey Die,   but I wanted a shadow for it. So I just glued it onto some black cardstock and cut it out myself.  I also used #18 Rose Leafthe flourish die which I don't see in stock right now, and #411 Elegant Heart stamp (which I adore!!)  Unfortunately, this set didn't photograph very well.  I think it's actually much prettier in person.

For my card, I used #168 Loving Bridal Couple. Aren't they beautiful?! I used colors that I think would work for someone getting married for the second time, or even an anniversary (especially a silver anniversary). Along with the beautiful couple, I used #411 Elegant Heart Stamp again. Together Forever is a Verve stamp. The lace trim as well as the ros on the bag are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the black paper doily was cut using a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die. The bow (of course) was made using May Arts Silk Ribbon from Stamp and Create.

I colored the images using Copic markers (E50, 53 for her dress, and T series for his slacks) and then I cut them out and popped them up for dimension. They are put on a frame made using a Martha Stewart PATP set.

One of the fun things about a blog hop is blog candy! So if you would like to win a special packet of goodies from me, please be sure and leave a comment on this post before midnight Pacific Sunday night, May 23rd. One entry per person please. Next stop on the hop is my friend and fabulously talented Barb! Thanks so much for joining in our blog hop today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Peggy Loves Vintage and she loves Happy Mail Too!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you've had a wonderful day and that you're ready to enjoy a fantastic weekend. I know I sure am!!! The sun was shining today and the temp is perfect right around 80. YAY! And then we're getting a cold front that's going to come through and it's going to drop into the 50's. They're even talking about having a little snow the beginning of next week. This is so typical of spring in Reno!! Oh well...the good days are outnumbering the cooler/stormy ones. So I'm enjoying it!    So onto my card....I chose this adorable image from Peggy Loves Vintage Collection of Cuties CD.  I thought he would look perfect on a "happy mail" card holding his gigantic red pencil!  So that's exactly where I put him. I printed him out on Bazzill paper and then cut him out using Nesties.

If you haven't tried using one of Peggy's images on a card, you're missing out! She has images to suit everone's tastes!! And it's so easy to make a fantastic card very quickly! Along with my main image, I used a ticket stamp from Whimsy (got it from Bunny Zoe's Crafts) and a Grunge Postcard stamp from Lili of the Valley. The corners are from an ancient Cuttlebug set that I've had for years and the DP's are from Nitwit Collections Live and Learn set. That yummy ribbon is from Stamp and Create, and it's topped off with a button from my stash and a bow made with some bakers twine.  Oh, and of course all the panels are machine stitched.  :0)

I put another postcard and ticket on the inside as well. The ticket on the inside says "hello". LOVE these tickets!! I just can't get enough of them!! LOL!  So that's it for me today. Please be sure and visit Peggy over at her etsy shop, her web site, and also her blog! She loooooooves to give away free vintage images! If you're not already following her, then click on that little follow button on her blog so you don't miss out on any of the freebies!  Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Fancy a Punch?

Hi everyone and welcome to a new Papertake Weekly challenge! This week, Dawny is asking us use our punches! We're sponsored this week by the awesome Dies to Die For! I actually used several punches and several dies as well!  As soon as I laid eyes on this adorable image, I absolutely HAD to have her!!  So I jumped straight over to Bunny Zoe's Crafts and snatched her up quickly! She's a Nellie Snellen image called Schoffie Taily Hair and she's so stinkin' CUTE! LOL! I can't get over her hair.

She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out with circle and petite scalloped Nesties. It's then plopped on top of a frame made with a Martha Stewart punch around the page set. That pretty doily peeking out from behind the frame is a doily made with a die by Cheery Lynn Designs (available at Dies to Die For). The flourish is from a Doohickey die from Magnolia-licious. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are another Martha Stewart punch. Oh, and the ticket is a Whimsy die and stamp that I also got from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

I honestly do not remember where I got the ribbon from, but I'd just about bet that I got it from Stamp and Create.  The cardstock I used is Bazzill and the DP's are from Nitwit Collections (Toadally Yours). That gorgeous metal corner is from a wonderful friend Cami!  Thanks again Cami!! Stay tuned for a gorgeous book card she sent me. I've got to get some pictures taken so I can show you. You are gonna be blown away by how beautiful it is!  Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the gorgeous creations by the talented DT, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us for a chance to win a wonderful prize from Dies To Die For!! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

hunka hunka burnin' love!!!!

Hi everyone! Sure hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had a very busy day today as not only was it Mother's Day here in the US, but it was also my hubby's birthday! Well, I just HAD to make him a card using this fabulous Stong Man image from Mo Manning over at Digital Pencil Too. And I'm sooooo excited cause I actually found a tutorial on how to merget two images together in Photoshop Elements! I was so excited as I've been looking for a simple tutorial for forever on how to do this. Here's a link to it in case you've been on the same quest. It truly is a wonderful, easy tutorial to follow.  So along with Strong Man, I used Mo's image Smooch!  I kept this card extremely simple as I wanted the images to say it all. I only added a couple tickets from Whimsy for the sentiment.

I love these two images as a couple!!!! When my hubby opened the card, he even gave me this pose and look! LMBO!!!! The images are colored with Copic Markers,  R22, 24, 27, and 29. The skin is E11, 01, and 00. Her hair are E20's, and his hair is YR21 with a touch of E33.  I was thinking after I colored her outfit all red that it's actually supposed to be a top along with a skirt. But I guess it looks ok colored like a dress. LOL!  I used a Martha Stewart PAP for the top and sides and left the bottom part alone. The cardstock is Bazzill and the DP are from Inque Boutique. That's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!   Hugs!

May Magnolia-licious DT Sketch challenge for Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday! I love it when Mondays are done and over with! LOL! And one of the reasons for that is Tuesday brings a new challenge from Papertake Weekly!  Now this month I combined my Papertake challenge with our montthly Magnolia DT sketch challenge. This month, the sketch is by our extremely talented and head designer Suzanne Dean!! This was a great sketch to work with Suzanne, Thank you!!  Since this is the first Tuesday of the month over at Papertake Weekly, that means the new challenge is  "anything goes" ! This months option is to use something round on your card (which was also included in Suzannne's sketch). It also means that we're being sponsored by the fabulous Lili of the Valley at Papertake Weekly!

For my card today, I used this adorable #214 King Tilda from the You Are So Special collection at Magnolia-licious. I don't see her in stock right now, but if you contact Diana, she'll be happy to help you out.  I also used #594 Balloon Background and #427 Lazy Summer Flowers! They're all colored with Copic markers. For the paper lace, I used a Magnolia Doohickey Die.

The cardstock is Bazzill and the DP is from an old DCWV stack Nana's Kitchen. The ticket stamp and die cut is from Whimsy and are also colored with Copic markers to match the card. That beautiful lace on the horizontal piece is by Prima which I got from Bunny Zoes Crafts, and the ribbon is May Arts Silk which I purchased from Stamp and Create. For the circle portion of the card, I used a fabulous doily die from Cheery Lynn Designs! LOVE them!! And the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts of course.

You can see there's lots of dimension on this card, simply cause I love dimension. So instead of masking, I usually like cutting out my images and layering them up in the scene to give that nice depth. That background paper....well......I tried to used Cabio's fabulous tutorial for clouds but I failed miserably. LOL! I think I need to practice a little with that one. Cabio's always looks so perfect and makes it look so easy! :) I'm glad most of mine was covered up so you really couldn't tell just how bad it really is. LOL!  And for those of you that have asked....

Nothing super special on the inside, but decorated nicely to complement the outside. So that's it for me today! Please be sure to pop over to Magnolia-licious Highlites to see all the amazing creations by the design team for Suzanne's sketch.  And also please be sure to visit Papertake Weekly to see all the gorgeous work by the design team over there! And then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and join in the challenges with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!!
hugs!

Papertake Weekly sketch week with hAnglar and stAnglar

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Hope you're having a wonderful start to your week and that you're having some nice spring weather. It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week is sketch week! I love working with Dawny's amazing sketches! And with it being the last challenge of the month, that means we're being sponsored by the amazing and generous Simon Says Stamp!!

I used one of  my new stamps from hAnglar and stAnglar and colored her with Copic markers.

Cardstock is Bazzill and DP are from Three Bugs in a rug. There's lots of machine stitching and the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The ticket is from a set of Whimsy stamps using the ticket punch as well that I got from Bunny Zoes Crafts. I used a little chalk ink around the edge to soften its edges a smidge. I also added some vintage buttons from PTI and for the horizontal portion of the sketch, I used May Arts silk ribbon that I got from Stamp and Create.

The inside is decorated to complement the card front. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the fabulous creations from the rest of the design team. Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and join us in the challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!  Hugs!

Bunny and Violets from Angels Landing

I was contacted by Judi with Angels Landing, and she asked me if I'd like to work with her GORGEOUS digital set Bunny and Violets 1!! Are you kidding me? These images are gorgeous!!! There's no way I could say no. So she sent me the digital images free of charge to get to play! Does it get any better?   I colored it with Copic markers and then cut it out with Nesties. Added some Wild Orchid Flowers and a couple punched butterflies. The ribbon is (of course) May Arts silk ribbon.

The papers are from Nitwit Collections and I added some stickles to the flowers and to the center of the violets. Please pop over to Angels Landing to see all of Judi's gorgeous digital images! Thank you so much for allowing me to play with your amazing artwork Judi! I truly appreciate it!   Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

hAnglar and stAnglar Easter bunny

Hi everyone! Oh my gosh, can you believe it's almost Easter already? It's like it just snuck up and bit me in the butt! I've been making cards for forever, but do you think I have a single one in the mail??? noooooooo...not me! Can someone PLEASE tell me why I do that? It's very frustrating! LOL!  Anyway, here's another Easter (or spring I guess, huh?) card I made up with those cute hAnglar stAnglar images. It's from the Easter kit, and they are just so cute I can hardly stand it! LOL! Anyway, had lots of fun making this one up!  She's colored with Copic markers (R01, 02, 05; E51, 53, 55; skin E11, 01, 00)

The cardstock used is Bazzill and the DP's are from Nitwit Collections. Again, sorry I can't remember which one, but if you want to know just email me and I'll figure it out for you. After I colored her, I cut her out with an oval Nestie, then used a Magnolia Doohickey die to frame it. So much fun, but I'm not a real big fan of all the cuts around the frame. Maybe it will grow on me. The flourishes are from a Magnolia Doohickey die as well. The doily is from a die from Cheery Lynn Designs and the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The tag was made using the Whimsy ticket sentiments and their tag die cut that I got from  Bunny Zoes Crafts.  Then I used a little chalk ink around the edges of it.

All the layers are machine stitched and that fabulous ribbon is from Stamp and Create. The inside is decorated to match the front. I think that's it for this card!  Only a couple more days to get  Easter cards posted! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly Spots and Stripes

Well we made it through Monday! That's always a good thing! LOL! We had fabulous spring weather this past weekend.  A little windy, but nice temps. The whole family got out Sunday for a walk around our local marina. Which is nice cause I need to get up off this duff and start getting some exercise! LOL! Well that's enough about my hiney....It's time for a new challenge at Paptertake Weekly, and we're being sponsored by The Ribbon Girl.  The new challenge is to use spots and/or stripes.  Well if you love polka dots like I do, then this isn't a challenge at all! LOL!  For my card today, I used this ADORABLE Tossa by Bildmalarna stamp that I got from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  Tossa is colored with Copic markers.  And boy howdy did I ever pull out my Cricut Expression for this card! LOL!

The shaped card was cut from Wild Card, the clouds were cut from Hello Kitty, and the fence was cut from My World. I used my Gypsy to weld three of the fences together at the height I wanted. I do so love my Gypsy. (Thanks so much Jody!!)  I added lots of doodling to add to the whimsical feel of the card. The clouds are edged with some chalk ink for definition.  The cardstock is Bazzill and the DP is Nitwits digital. (sorry can't remember which collection). And the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts of course. I had to add a little bit of machine stitching in there too.  I've had that pink ribbon for so long that I honestly can't remember where it came from. It might be Stampin Up, but I'm not sure.

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the fabulous creations by the rest of the Design Team. Then we'd really love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and join us using your spots and/or stripes! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Truly Dimensional!

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday! Hope you're having a great start to your week! It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week the challenge is Truly Dimensional sponsored the fabulous Whiff of Joy!!  Flat is not allowed!! I took it as to use lots of dimensional tape and assure that the card would not fit in a normal envelope. LOL! So that's what I did.

For my card,  I used #321 Hello Little Butterfly from the Butterfly Dreams 2011 collection at Magnolia-licious. She's colored with Copic markers (sorry...didn't keep the numbers this time) and cut out with oval Nesties and layered with petite scalloped oval Nesties. The card base is Bazzill, the matting is PTI, and the DP is old paper I've had in my stash from Making Memories.  All layers are machine stitched and popped up. Don't forget about the amazing Easter/Spring Extravaganza contest going on right now over at Magnolia-licious Highlites! You've got until April 19th to submit your projects, and Diana added a 4th catergory of mixing standard Magnolia images with the minis!! PLUS she added a wonderful GRAND PRIZE!! Check out all the details HERE!

That gorgeous sentiment is from the Whimsy set of Spring Letter Seals colored with Copic markers to match. And again, it's popped up for dimension. The bow is May Arts silk ribbon topped off with a cherry blossom from Wild Orchid Crafts. The punched lace down the right side is from a Magnolia DooHickey Die.

That gorgeous butterfly was made using Marianne Design Creatables Butterfly Style 2, and I used some Kaiser half backed pearls down the center. I think that just about covers everything!

Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the amazing creations the Design Team has for your pleasure today! Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

I am entering this card into the Wild Orchid Crafts challenge of Wings.

Meet Elisha Jean from The Cutting Cafe!!

Hi everyone! We've made it half way through the week and we're on the downhill slide now! Can you belivee they are talking SNOW tonight? I'm so sick of the white stuff (just like all the rest of you). But to go from 70 deg weather two days ago to a high in the 40's, lows in the 20's, and snow on the valley floor tonight. YUCK!!! I will say though that this is very typical for spring weather in Reno. So onward and upward, right?  Now how about we take a peek at this card! Is she not the cutest little thang you ever have seen??!!! Her name is Elisha Jean and she's a brand new digital image my good friend and adopted sis Regina has released. I LOVE her! She and two of her friends are available for purchase right now over at The Cutting Cafe!  For my card, I used Bazzill cardstock and the DP is from My Minds Eye.

I added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers edges in some Crystal Stickles with the Martha Stewart frond punch. I honestly can't remember where I got the lace from, but it was either from Stamp and Create or Wild Orchid Crafts. The ribbon is also from Stamp and Create as are the Kaiser pearls and that pretty little heart charm. The magnificent glittered heart is from Melissa Frances (looooove them!!). There's lots of machine stitching and lots of dimension too.  Elisha Jean is colored with Copic markers.
skin E11, 21;     hair-E15, 39, 59    socks  YG11, 13, 17    shoes: E13, 15, 17

Hi everyone! We made it through Monday! WHOOT WHOOT!!  LOL! Hope you're having a fabulous start to your week! I know I am! It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week it's "Anything Goes" sponsored by the amazing Lili of the Valley!  For my card this week, I used this adorable image "waiting for rain" by Mo Manning at Digital Pencil Too. I fell in love with her when I saw her and just had to have her.  She's colored with Copic markers (list below).

That adorable little birdie is from Mangolia-licious and the sentiment is a very old Penny Black stamp. (boy did I have to dig to find this one!) Magnolia-licious Design Team Sketch challenge for April

WOOHOO!! Happy Friday and happy April 1st!!! So are you an April Fool prankster?  I like to play small little pranks, especially to the grandkids. LOL!  With today being the first of the month, it's time for a new challenge from the Magnolia-licious Design team, and this month is was my turn to host. I decided to challenge you to make a project using Edwin and Tilda together. Cause after all, Edwin and Tilda are truly Together Forevah!!! For my card today, I used #151 Heartbreaker Edwin (isn't he just the cutest little thing??) along with #341 Mini Tilda Blowing Hearts for the thought bubble, and #450 log.

They're all colored with Copic markers. Edwin and the log are fussy cut and popped up from the Nestabilities circle. The grass is just hand drawn in. A Martha Stewart border punch was used for the heart strip, the twine is from PTI, and I got those cool Tim Holtz pins that the charm is attached to at my LSS. The other stick pin I've had for forever and I can't remember who they're made by. The packaging is long gone. That little tag was cut using a Cuttlebug set of dies and I just ran it through my printer after cutting it. It's attached to the twin with just a simple safety pin. The pearls in the corners were colored with a Copic marker.

Please be sure to visit Magnolia-licious Highlites to see my DT sisters creations using both Tilda and Edwin. And don't forget about the huge Magnolia-licious Easter/Spring Extravaganza challenge! The prizes are unbelievable! There are three different categories and each category is offering a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place price. This is VOTING contest, and you're only allowed one entry per category, so be sure to do your best work! First place prize in each category is a $150.00 shopping spree at Magnolia-licious! WOW! If that's not an eye opener, then I don't know what would be! All the details are on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. But don't put it off, cause you only have until April 19th (exact times are in the contest details) and then the contest closes for voting. So what are you waiting for! Get those Easter/Spring projects going! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Sketch Week

Hi everyone! I'm soooo excited cause we're actually getting some spring weather instead of blizzards! LOL! It was sunny all day yesterday and in the 50's, and then we're supposed to be in the high 70's by Friday! It might rain next weekend, but I don't care! It's still not going to be yucky snow! LOL! Moving on from the weathr report, it's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly!! We get to play with one of Dawny's fabulous sketches, and we are sponsored this week by the wonderful Simon Says Stamp!

For my card,  I used one of Peggy's cute Easter Cutouts from Peggy Loves Vintage. It's so very easy to make cards using her images! You just print one out, mat it, and attach it to your card! I think I've said it before, about the only way it's going to get any easier is to walk into a store and buy a card! Be sure and visit Peggy's blog and become a follower! She loves to give away free images!!

Cardstock is Bazzill, DP is from Nitwit Collections, flowers are Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is May Arts 100% silk from Stamp and Create. I added machine stitching and popped up each individual panel. Sorry I didn't get a pic of the dimension this time.  Please be sure and visit Papertake Weekly to see the rest of my talented teamies creations. Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!
hugs!
